Mike Unklesbay, a local endurance rider, will ride a 10 mile loop from the Pier just south of Dunlawton Avenue, 5 miles North and back, for a 24 hour period. He will cycle around the clock along with support riders throughout the duration of the event. The current Guinness World Record he is attempting to break is 279.6 miles in a 24 hour period.

Because of the soft sandy terrain, Unklesbay will be riding on a fat tire mountain bike that can handle all terrain like the beach. He has been provided with the newly designed Xtreme Warrior™ Bicycle to ride. This Bike has a revolutionary, patent pending design with the lightest wheel system available from any bike manufacturer.

“This bike was designed specifically for all terrain racing,” explains Tommi Coghill owner of Xtreme Fat Tire Bikes and one of the event sponsors.

“We offer the lightest 100mm rim with cut outs that combined with a wide low profile tire, create a fat tire wheel system out there that is completely symmetrical and balanced.”

“We are excited to see just how well our new racing bike will perform,” added Coghill. “We will also be showcasing our bikes for spectators to try out during the event and will raffle off one of the bikes at the end of the race.”

The event will be televised by XPTV Sports, 3D High TV, Tuff TV, Untamed Sports TV and Tampa Bay Great 38.

This event marks the beginning of a series of Xtreme Bike Racing events planned along the Florida coasts for the future. For more information about scheduled racing events, please visit: www.XtremeBikeRacing.com .
